About the Artist

Meet Walter Chaupin - Man Behind the Art

Walter Chaupin began his dream “Walter Metal Art” in a small Melbourne workshop with nothing more than a welder, a few sheets of steel, and a quiet belief that sculpture should feel like it belongs. Not just as decoration, but as something that holds presence. Something that carries weight without needing to speak loudly.

What started as a few handmade pieces soon became a calling. People weren’t just buying sculptures. They were finding something that felt right for their home, their garden, their story. That feeling is what keeps us going today.

Why We Do This

We are not chasing trends. We are building things that last.

At Walter Metal Art, every piece is shaped by hand, guided by instinct, and grounded in real materials. There are no templates, no mass production, and no rush. Because the spaces we build for deserve more than just something that looks good. They deserve something that means something.

We work with clients across Australia including homeowners, architects, collectors, and everyday people who simply want a sculpture that feels made for them. And whether it ends up on a quiet wall, in the middle of a courtyard, or standing tall in a public space, it carries the same purpose. To belong. To connect. To last.

Our Belief

Good art should feel like it has always been there.

We believe in honest materials and slow craft. In forms that speak to both movement and stillness. And most of all, in creating work that makes people stop for a second. Not because it tries to impress, but because it feels right.
