It All Started with Steel And a Vision
Walter Chaupin never planned to become a sculptor. He started out as a certified welder, spending years in workshops mastering TIG, MIG, and ARC welding.
But even while working in heavy industry, he felt drawn to do more than just build to spec. He wanted to shape steel with freedom. To push its limits. To turn raw metal into something that speaks to people.
What began as a side project in his metal art workshop in Melbourne soon turned into a full-time passion.
Based in Melbourne, Australian sculptor Walter creates hand-forged steel sculptures for private collectors, architects, and designers across the city, extending metal art service to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and beyond. His journey proves that when skill meets imagination, metal becomes more than a material. It becomes an art.
